For many kids, attending a week at action sports epicenter, Camp Woodward, is a pipe dream, for JoJo Velasquez it’s home. The now 20-year-old was rollerblading down ramps at about the same time he took his first steps, but after discovering the sport of Ice Cross on Instagram there was no turning back for JoJo. In 2019, after two seasons in the sport traveling the world for competitions JoJo won the Juniors world title. Going into the 2020 season JoJo felt the weight of defending his title against the growing field of competitors, but no amount of training could have prepared him for how the season would unfold.
