Like many kids, James Buehler dreamt of moving out of his small town and into the mountains to snowboard. As a young park rider, James knew his way around the resorts, but it wasn’t until he moved to Utah that he was lured into the world of back country and big mountain riding. Quickly after getting his first taste of technical peaks and untouched powder he was hooked, dedicating years to accumulate the skills, knowledge, and style necessary to achieve some of the most ambitions lines in the world of backcountry snowboarding. Whether it’s a first descent, an iconic couloir, or summiting a series of peaks, James Buehler is on a mission to raise the bar for snowboard mountaineers.
